TX-G08 Square Gearsʷᶠᶠ
Still having more fun with motion and gears!
Square gears study. The 2 gears are not identical although they run at same speeds. They differ in size and you will notice that the gear on the right is slightly dented in the middle sections.
The idea of non-circular gears is to achieve oscillations or ratio variation. The textile industry uses this application. But it can also be found in window shade panel drivers and potentiometers.
