Paragon Damascus - Diamond Silver Damascus steel was the forged crucible steel of the blades of swords made in the Near East from around 800 A.D. These swords are characterized by distinctive patterns of banding and mottling reminiscent of flowing water. Such blades are reputed to be tough, resistant to shattering, and capable of being honed to a sharp resilient edge.
