I will have to read up. Did you also give notice to all the designers that use star wars, disney, marvel etc? Use the facer search engine to see how many copyright laws may be in question.
Just wondering how you can use Pink Panther google shows this - If your client wants to use The Pink Panther in their project, they will have to pony up big bucks to MGM licensing to do so. You should really study and understand Copyright and Trademark law. Unless a popular character stopped publication before 1923, it's probably not in the public domain
