I.
This is one of my favorite watchface. They landed on the moon one day before my birthday. I'm just curious how the hand in the 12 o'clock dial works. What is it's purpose. I'd appreciate anything you can tell me about it. I understand that the time in the windows is GMT (now referred to as UTC) but I don't know what the hand indicates? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I am glad you like it. The hand indicates the current value of the "Equation of Time" - the difference between mean time ( that assumes a constant day duration of 24hrs and is indicated by a clock ) and the time indicated by a sun dial ( which varies based on the actual length of the day: 24hrs -14.1/+16.6 minutes ).
