@Meri: Facer tests all Premium designs before publishing to be sure they work. If you own a Google Pixel, Google never fixed that. You will need to talk to Google. If you own a different model, make sure your watch has given Facer all permissions. Other brands do well with steps. One thing you may want to look for if you have a Google Pixel is interactive shortcuts that include a Steps Shortcut so you can click on that to open your activity app that shows steps.
I love some of these designs! I just hate that the step counter never works for them.
