So I got it to say Apple Watch using my phone. I cannot get the face to load fully in the watch settings. It only loads the date.

Make sure you are using the phone app to sync, not the website. If you are doing that, after it syncs, RESTART watch and phone so all components can work together. Let me know if that helps.
