Nova Core 1 - Graphite
The Nova Core 1 is the first of many watches using a unique numeral system. It is at once vexing to the onlooker while quick and easy to read once adjusted to its design. This version of the Core 1 appears in an elegant dark grey & gold metallic color scheme.
Reading the Nova Core 1: Time is represented as a combination of radii - which represent one - & chords - which represent two. Subitizing these lines gives the time in hours (represented in base 12) and minutes, reading from the outermost ring inward. Seconds are easily read from a central meter. When dimmed, the seconds meter goes away & is replaced by an AM/PM indicator, which conserves battery.

I've been looking for an "encoded" time design like this. I had a face where the time was told by a series of squares inside of each other with different parts of the sides taken out to represent the numbers. Just as confusing to explain as this one, but after staring for a few minutes you come to understand. Cool design!
