In 1992 emblem golden lilies of its re-use with the proclamation of the independent Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina consisted of kingfish golden lilies on a white background. This was the flag of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1998, after a protest by the political representatives of the former Herceg-Bosna and the Republic of Serbian, the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is replaced by a new one. However Bosniaks still use the coat of arms and flag of the relevant cultural circumstances, and on the coat of arms of the Federation of BiH and the coats of arms of some cantons and municipalities, lily is used as a symbol of Bosniaks.
