The mission was never completed due to disagreements between Captain William Bligh and his second, Fletcher Christian, which led to the revolt of half the crew on April 28, 1789 and caused the famous mutiny of the Bounty. [1]. Captain Bligh and his loyal sailors were put on a lifeboat that traveled 4000 miles to the Dutch Indies where they were rescued and sent home. With the news brought by Bligh, an expedition was sent to search for the ship and the rioters, with HMS Pandora. Meanwhile, the rioters had moved to other islands and sank the Bounty. The Pandora found some of the rioters, and his captain placed them in a cage on the quarterdeck for the return voyage; this resulted in the death of most of them when the HMS Pandora sank, hitting a coral reef.
