Nana Wooden Bead Clock
A warm, tactile digital watch face inspired by handcrafted wooden furniture and vintage mechanical display instruments.
The watch uses a rich dark walnut wooden dial surrounded by a thick wooden bezel and subtle black metal framing. Small metal screws around the outer bezel reinforce the handcrafted mechanical character.
At the top, the time is displayed in large three-dimensional metallic bead digits, with each digit constructed from individual spherical beads mounted against the wooden surface. The colon uses matching metallic beads. The display is intentionally integrated into the wood rather than appearing as a conventional digital screen.
Centered beneath the time is the Nana Watch Studio logo, subtly engraved into the wood.
Four circular complication modules occupy the lower half of the watch. Each module has its own dark metal bezel, wooden interior, and clearly defined icon:
Upper left: Steps — footprint icon
Upper right: Temperature — thermometer icon
Lower left: Battery — battery icon
Lower right: Heart rate — heart icon
The complication values are displayed in warm amber/orange typography, contrasting naturally with the dark walnut surface.
The overall design combines woodworking, tactile bead construction, industrial detailing, and modern digital smartwatch functionality.
AOD
The AOD version retains the same physical composition but becomes significantly darker. The wooden texture and metal details are subdued, while the bead-style time and essential complication values remain visible in a low-brightness presentation.
