mm Sherman M4A3E8 V3
This is a photo of a Tamiya Sherman M4A3E8, or the "Easy 8" model. This version had the larger 76mm cannon in place. I built WWII models when I was a teenager. I made them look shot up and battle weathered with highly detailed paint jobs. I got the idea of how funny the turret would look as a second hand. I dug out the old models and got some pics. This is my model photographed from above.
Version 3 has a more simple dial face created to more replicate the exact clock used on the Sherman tank instrument panel. The hands are custom built for this face. The color is lighter to look more like the dial as well.
The watch face features an analog time display, day, date, current temperature and a weather conditions icon. The minute hand and second hand are a flaming icon I created for something else, but I thought it looked cool here. I created the power meter from 76mm shell lined up. You have 20 shells at full power, so use them wisely.
"GIMPY" NOTE: When the Always On Display is on, the second hand tank turret will stop in the position it is in when the watch goes to sleep. If it stays asleep, when the time advances another minute the second hand turret will snap to the 12 o'clock position and stay there until the watch wakes up again.
