Love the desing but all of a sudden the shield (battery indicator) stopped working, tried a few thing like restarting the watch setting different wachface or even redownloading the app (both on mobile and the watch) but no luck.

I experienced the same issue. Seems to be a bug with the rings being progress bars with a fill ratio of 1.00, which the watch doesn't know how to handle. I changed the ratio to 0.9999 and it finally works for me, and the remaining 0.0001 sliver isn't visible on my watch. I hope this fixed it for you!
