International Cat Day is a celebration which takes place on 8 August of every year. It was created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare. It is a day to raise awareness for cats and learn about ways to help and protect them. In 2020 custodianship of International Cat Day passed to International Cat Care, a not-for-profit British organization that has been striving to improve the health and welfare of domestic cats worldwide since 1958. ------ El Día Internacional del Gato es una celebración que tiene lugar el 8 de agosto de cada año. Fue creado en 2002 por el Fondo Internacional para el Bienestar Animal. Es un día para concienciar a los gatos y aprender formas de ayudarlos y protegerlos. En 2020, la custodia del Día Internacional del Gato pasó a International Cat Care, una organización británica sin fines de lucro que se ha esforzado por mejorar la salud y el bienestar de los gatos domésticos en todo el mundo desde 1958.
